UK villagers ‘rightfully furious’ as fiery row continues over government's asylum seeker camp

​News24 contributor Sophie Elsworth says Piddington locals are “rightfully furious” with the UK government as they continue protesting plans for a camp to house 1,250 asylum seekers. ​“It’s a beautiful, quaint little village…there are only 350 residents,” Ms Elsworth told News24 host Chris Kenny. ​“The community, rightly so, is absolutely furious about this. ​“They’ll be outnumbered one to four…they’re only male asylum seekers, many of whom we don’t know where they’ve come from; we don’t have ID checks. ​“They’re up in arms about it, and they’re fighting back.”
