Trump announces ‘AI Force’ to oversee artificial intelligence industry
Sky News AustraliaUS President Donald Trump has announced plans to create an 'AI Force' to oversee the artificial intelligence industry and appoint an AI 'czar.' Mr Trump has opposed calls for stricter federal regulation of artificial intelligence, saying the technology should be allowed to develop. In a post on Truth Social, he stated: “We will not in any way hinder or stifle the growth of this incredible industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!” Mr Trump said. “However, we will also be looking for bad, and we can do that very easily, with our already existing criminal and civil justice system. “For this purpose, I am forming the AI Force, much like I did the Space Force, which has been a tremendous success in my first term.”
