Richard Marles denies permanent US base in Perth

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles denies there will be a permanent US military base in Perth, insisting they are personnel “rotating” through to help with submarine operations. “It is a rotation, in the sense that we have both equipment and personnel rotating through,” Mr Marles told News24. “We have US rotations present in Australia now, it’s really important in terms of being able to contribute to Australian capability.”
