Donald Trump eviscerates Anthony Fauci after doctor is found in contempt of Congress

US President Donald Trump has lashed out at Anthony Fauci when asked if the Department of Justice should investigate the doctor. On Thursday, Trump spoke to reporters in the Oval Office and argued that what Fauci did was “far more serious” than what others have been prosecuted for. Trump cited the DOJ’s prosecutions of Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon as to why Fauci should be investigated. The president’s remarks follow a Republican-led Senate committee holding Fauci in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions. The vote came in at 8-5, with all Republican senators voting in favour while Democrats voted against holding the doctor in contempt.
