'Deliberately designed' wartime committee will do 'meaningful work' without Greens members

News24 Defence Analyst Peter Jennings responds to the new parliamentary committee examining Australia’s wartime resistance, declaring it has a chance to “produce good work” as there are no Greens Party members present. “When the government was first elected in '22 asked Sir Angus Houston and Stephen Smith to advise them on issues to do with the readiness of the Australian population for conflict,” Mr Jennings told News24 host James Macpherson. “They got that advice and then Richard Marles lost his nerve. Nothing was ever made public. “It’s taken them four years to get to the point that they’re even prepared to let a parliamentary committee have this discussion.”
