‘Punishing the innocent for crimes of the guilty’: Hume on gun buyback scheme

​Deputy Liberal Leader Jane Hume says Labor’s gun buyback scheme is “punishing” the innocent for the crimes of the guilty. ​“This was a knee-jerk reaction in response to the Bondi terrorist attack by the Labor government,” Ms Hume told News24. ​“Now the government’s response is punishing recreational shooters and sportsmen, punishing farmers, people that own firearms entirely legally and for the right purposes. ​“No point punishing the innocent for the crimes of the guilty.”
