Nationals Leader Matt Canavan warns Labor’s proposed low-carbon fuel standards could pile further costs onto fuel distributors, with penalties ultimately threatening to flow through to consumers. “It proposes to put new standards on fuel distributors to have to buy a minimum amount of low-carbon fuel,” Mr Canavan told News24 host Paul Murray. “If the company doesn’t buy enough, they have to buy credits or pay a penalty.”
