‘Fundamental to our security’: ANZUS marks 75 years

​The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says ANZUS is still “fundamental” to Australia’s security as the 75th anniversary of the pact is marked. ​“Given that we have almost no defences of our own, we rely overwhelmingly on American provision of security,” Mr Sheridan told News24 host James Macpherson. ​“It’s profoundly in Australia’s interests, it’s also in the global interest, and although Australians don’t like Trump, they value the US alliance, and they’re right to do so.”
