One Nation Senator declares too many international students ‘majoring in permanent residency’

One Nation Senator Sean Bell says there are far too many international students who are abusing their visas and staying in Australia, labelling it “a joke”. “One Nation’s position on this is very clear, we believe that there are too many international students in Australia majoring in permanent residency. It’s a joke,” Mr Bell told News24 host Peta Credlin. “It’s been enabled by the Albanese Labor government because prior to the Albanese Labor government, if a international student was found to be or suspected of using one of these visas to get permanent residency they could lose their visa. “Well, that clause was removed by the Albanese Labor government.”
