Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says the Democrats are not likely to win in Texas as new polls show the Republican candidate Ken Paxton leading his Democrat opponent James Talarico. “For the Democrats to have any chance, you have to have a really bad Republican candidate, you have to have an unpopular president, you have to have bad inflation numbers, bad economic numbers … all of those things have to sort of come together,” Mr Mulvaney told News24 Digital Presenter Gabriella Power. “What’s happened is, all of those things have come together … Ken Paxton’s just not a good candidate, he’s had all sorts of scandals in his past. “Things are lining up to where the Democrats have a chance, but that doesn’t mean they are going to win. “They have to have a Republican switch from a Republican to Democrat.”
