Israel closes UK consulate, bans 12 MPs from entering the country in retaliation to sanctions

Israel has closed its UK consulate after a dozen countries announced plans to introduce or support sanctions against Israeli settlements. Britain, France, and Canada have declared they will ban imports from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, prompting the response from Israel’s foreign ministry. Israel has implemented four countermeasures, including closing the consulate in East Jerusalem, as well as banning 12 MPs from entering the country.
