Iran and Oman on the cusp of Strait of Hormuz deal

Iran is signalling it could be on the cusp of a deal with Oman over a temporary route for commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz but has made it clear it won’t immediately apply to the US. Under the plan, Tehran would have control over ships entering the vital shipping lane. Iran has insisted that any potential agreement does not mean the Strait of Hormuz will be fully and immediately reopened for all.
