‘I would never let down the fans’: Ed Sheeran speaks out after Macklemore dropped from tour

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has broken his silence on a decision to drop US rapper Macklemore from the remainder of his US tour. Mr Sheeran said in a statement on social media that it wasn’t his decision to drop Macklemore from the tour, it was the promoter’s. “I would never let down the fans who had made plans, nor would I abandon the touring crew and the other support acts and musicians who rely on me for work and to make a living,” he said. He also went on to say he was “appalled” by the conflict between Israel and Palestine and the “suffering and pain caused on both sides is a human tragedy”.
