‘He lied to me': Ex-chief of staff says Fauci misled White House on COVID misinformation

Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney reflected on his time working with Anthony Fauci during the early days of the COVID task force. “The story I was waiting to hear is the one that keeps coming back in my mind was where Tony Fauci and I ran the COVID task force before Mike Pence took over,” Mr Mulvaney said. “He told me to go on TV and tell people not to wear masks, and I did that. “Years later I found out that he was lying to me about the reasons for that. “There I was, the chief of staff and our head of infectious diseases expert was lying to me about masks; he lied to people about the six-foot separation; he lied to a bunch of people on a bunch of different things."
