Queensland police to possibly be granted new powers over DNA collection

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli is considering revamping laws surrounding the collection of DNA, allowing police to collect it from youth offenders to add to their database. “How do you balance making sure that you protect somebody’s rights. Equally with giving law enforcement officers the best ability to do their job?” Mr Crisafulli said.
