Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney commented on the upcoming Michigan primary, describing it as a pivotal contest between a “centrist Democrat” and a “progressive Democrat Socialist” vying for the Senate nomination. “A fascinating race where a sort of Centrist Democrat and a progressive hardcore left-wing Democrat Socialist of America are fighting over the Democrat nominee for Senate,” Mr Mulvaney told News24. “Michigan is a true swing state; it’s one of those ones that could go Democrat, it could go Republican. “It will speak volumes, maybe more than any other election this primary season, of where the Democrat Party in my country is going.”
