Victoria Opposition Leader Jess Wilson blames Victoria Premier Ben Carroll for cutting $200 million from the roads budget, arguing the decision helped set the state’s road safety problems in motion. “In Ben Carrolls case he actually did hold the hose because he was the minister for roads and when he was the minister, he cut $200 million dollars from the roads budget,” Ms Wilson said. “That was when the rot set in and now, we have unsafe roads right across this state. “My heart goes out to Peter Masons family because when he went out for a ride on Sunday afternoon with his mate he should have come home. “He deserved so much more from his government.”
