The government has been found to fund more than 100 NGOs totalling $2.2 billion, and the Institute of Public Affairs Research Assistant Jordan Abou-Zeid says one of the NGOs is fighting to have multiculturalism put into law. “We found that through their registers with the Australian Charities Commission that the government is funding all these kinds of NGOs that engage in progressive advocacy,” Mr Abou-Zeid told News24 host Peta Credlin. “One of the most egregious examples is the Federal Ethnic Communities Councils Alliance … they have been lobbying the federal government for a multicultural act that would enshrine multiculturalism into Australian law. “Taking it out of the hands of Australians.”
