The Flydubai co-pilot’s plans have been exposed after he stabbed his captain and attempted to hijack a plane carrying hundreds of passengers. The attacker has been identified as Omani national Hamam al-Hammami, whose plans to crash the plane into a building were foiled. Hammami used the plane’s crash axe to stab Captain Smit Machchhar, with the intention to kill him, Israeli media reports. According to Israeli media, Hammami told United Arab Emirates investigators about his plans. Hammami claimed he planned to kill his pilot, receive landing clearances after arriving in Tel Aviv, and then crash into one of the Azrieli towers.
