Author and SiriusXM host Stacy Washington calls for arrests and prosecutions when demonstrations turn violent, arguing a stronger law-and-order approach would prevent unrest from escalating into widespread destruction. “How do we avoid this in the US?’ Ms Washington told News24 host Elizabeth Pipko. “We need to respect law enforcement, and we need to allow them to do their jobs, and when protests turn violent, everybody should be arrested. Everybody. If you're there and you're throwing things, you get arrested. “If you damage property, if you hurt people, you're prosecuted for that. “If we go back to a law-and-order stance, we won't see this turn into the melee that we saw after George Floyd's death.”
