Nationals MP David Littleproud discusses the fallout of the government’s surcharge ban, as small business owners claim to have had a “gutful” over cost-of-living measures. “What they’ve done is try to crucify the economy by hurting the people that actually employ people, and that’s where small business have just said, ‘we’ve had a gutful’,” Mr Littleproud told News24. “This government is in denial about the fact that they believe that it’s all international factors; yes, there are some international factors but not the main factor. “The Albanese government … is at a tipping point where people have stopped listening, and that’s because they haven’t been truthful with the Australian people. “When something’s gone wrong in business or any part of the economy, and someone’s done something wrong, we increase regulation rather than police and penalise … all we’ve done is add layer of complexity.”
