Cigarettes are ‘very cheap now’ as 80 per cent of smokes sold come from the illicit trade

Nationals Leader Matt Canavan says cigarettes are “very cheap now” as the black market takes 80 per cent of tobacco sold nationwide. “80 per cent of smokes sold now in Australia are being done on the black market,” Mr Canavan told News24 host Sharri Markson. “Cigarettes on the black market are $15 to $20 a pack or less. “They’re very cheap now.”
