‘Protecting organised crime’: Angus Taylor savages Labor’s tobacco tax strategy

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor accuses the Albanese Government’s tobacco excise policy of protecting organised crime, vowing an 80 per cent tax cut and $200 million for law enforcement to smash the black market. “The current policy is protecting the business model of organised crime in this country,” Mr Taylor said. “We need to smash the business model of organised crime in this country, and that is what an 80 per cent cut to the excise combined with $200 million of law enforcement will do.”
