China ‘drastically ramp up’ military tech production as US munition shortages under focus

News24 Defence Analyst Peter Jennings says nobody is watching the US-Iran conflict more closely than the Chinese. “Also, the war in Ukraine and learning the lessons from that,” Mr Jennings told News24 host James Macpherson. “The Chinese are drastically ramping up their military technology production. They’ve doubled their combat aircraft production just in the last couple of years and will continue to do so. “The Americans are slowly grinding to see the defence industry become faster and more capable in the United States, but they’re a long way behind; they’re sort of stuck in peacetime production mode, and that doesn’t seem to be what the world needs as we move into a much more dangerous time in the Asia-Pacific region.”
