Germany has erupted in looting and violent riots that have left over 100 police officers injured as the chaos in Europe reaches Frankfurt. On Saturday, the central German city erupted into violence as tens of thousands protested for better education and cost of living concerns. The protests, organised by the group ‘Gen Z regelt’, roughly translated to ‘Gen Z takes charge’, quickly turned chaotic. According to ABC News, rioters destroyed 17 stores, five of which were looted, leading to the deployment of 1,300 officers. According to the interior minister of the state of Hesse, Roman Poseck, over 100 were injured and 54 were arrested, aged between 13 and 29. Citing information from police, Poseck revealed that the majority of those involved in the riots were German nationals of immigrant background.
