Calls for national emergency as nearly 3,000 migrants cross into Spanish territory

News24 contributor Sophie Elsworth says there are calls for a “national emergency” as reports claim nearly 3,000 migrants from Morocco have crossed into Spain’s Ceuta. “There are calls from other world leaders to say what on earth is going on; action needs to be taken,” Ms Elsworth told News24. “There are calls on the new British prime minister saying, what are you doing about the migrant crisis in the UK? “They’re having record-high numbers coming in daily.”
