Productivity Commission says ambition to unlock more housing across country ‘not quite there’

Productivity Commission Chair Danielle Wood says things are being done to unlock more housing across the country, although ambition is not there yet. “The message in our report is there is still a lot more to do if we’re going to be able to build the amount of houses that we think we need,” Ms Wood told News24. “Melbourne has introduced a greater capacity to build townhouses. “Sydney’s doing high density around train stations. “Level of ambition across the board isn’t quite there yet.”
