‘Big problem with the ABC’: TV host's scathing takedown of national broadcaster's conduct

News24 host Danica De Giorgio says there is a “big problem” with the ABC’s editorial guidelines in the wake of the vile Gina Rinehart sketch and questions why it took so long for a half-hearted apology. “It’s taken more than three weeks for an apology; it’s taken the threat of legal action. The ABC then had to consult with its own Ombudsman for permission to make said apology,” Ms De Giorgio said. “Its Ombudsman found that there were no editorial guidelines that were breached. “If that is the case then, we’ve got a really big problem with the ABC’s editorial guidelines because to put something to air like that that sodomises a woman and for the ABC to not in the first instance, one put it to air in the first place, two issue an immediate apology. “That is a very, very big problem from the national broadcaster.”
