Assistant Defence Minister declares ‘temporary visa numbers’ must come down

Assistant Defence Minister Peter Khalil says the temporary visa numbers need to come down and throws support behind permanent skilled migration. “It’s important to really bring that temporary visa number down,” Mr Khalil told News24. “Yes, there is a need for skills that we have. I’ve always been a big supporter of the permanent skilled migration number, which is actually quite a smallish number.”
