Bowen ‘consumed by goals but deaf to global trends’ as emissions target set to be missed

​The Australian Columnist Tom Switzer says Energy Minister Chris Bowen “clearly underestimated” the difficulty of decarbonising the Australian economy at a rapid rate. ​“He’s obsessive in pursuit of goals…and he’s clearly deaf to global trends,” Mr Switzer told News24 host Chris Kenny. ​“All around the world, nations are walking back their climate commitments, which is why you won’t get a legally binding, verifiable, and forcible global deal to slash emissions.”
