‘An absurd reaction’: Canavan rips into Plibersek over illicit tobacco excise

Nationals Leader Matt Canavan responds to Social Services Minister Tanya Plibersek’s comments about the Coalition’s proposed excise cut on tobacco to combat the illicit cigarette market. “It’s an absurd reaction to an obvious problem,” Mr Canavan told News24 host Sharri Markson. “The facts are the current policy settings are killing people. “At least six homicides have been connected to the illicit tobacco trade in Victoria alone.”
