Sovereign Australia AI CEO Simon Kriss says more of AI’s economic benefits must be kept onshore to see real “productivity gains”. “You need to understand that just getting all of your workers to use Microsoft Copilot is not going to move the needle anytime soon on true productivity gains,” Mr Kriss told News24 host James Macpherson. “It’s only when agentic type processes are put in place and the AI is actually really delivering tangible outcomes that you’ll start to see it “We need to be really careful about what we’re looking at and where the dollars are being spent. “If we’re using an offshore model sitting in an Amazon environment…all of that economic benefit flows offshore. “We have to pull that back if we’re going to try and make these productivity gains.”
