UK Opposition Leader Kemi Badenoch accuses UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham of using the prospect of a slavery apology to open the door to compensation payments, rejecting taxpayer-funded reparations. “I don't think we should be giving any money to compensate people for the slave trade,” Ms Badenoch said. “I don't think that Andy Burnham needs to be apologising because it is a lever to wedge open the door to ask for cash.”
