CoinDesk's Jennifer Sanasie and 21Shares co-founder Ophelia Snyder sit down with Michael Shaulov, CEO and co-founder of Fireblocks, at Stellar's Meridian conference. Shaulov says institutions are now moving stablecoins and tokenized securities on-chain for cross-border payments and capital markets, with Fireblocks acting as the middle layer that provides wallets, tokenization, custody and settlement on blockchains like Stellar. He identifies the remaining gaps before crypto payments can feel as simple as Apple Pay. Shaulov calls the 18 months since the Genius Act passed the most exciting period since Fireblocks began, and predicts that if the industry moves financial infrastructure onto these rails within two years, no administration will be able to roll it back. - Chapters/Timecodes: 00:00 Fireblocks CEO Michael Shaulov at Meridian 00:24 What Institutions Want On-Chain 00:50 Where Fireblocks Fits In 01:20 The Talent Gap and New Security Risks 03:15 Letting Go of Control: The Core Banking Comparison 05:14 Trust and the Open Transaction Layer 07:01 The Genius Act and What's Next 09:00 The CLARITY Act and Regulatory Outlook 10:33 Why Crypto Rails Can't Be Rolled Back - #digitalfinance #finance #bitcoin Subscribe to CoinDesk on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/CoinDesk?sub_confirmation=1 CoinDesk is the leading digital media, events and information services company for the crypto asset and blockchain technology community.
