Why 8 commercial tenants at The Animal Lodge failed to have leases renewed

Eight out of 35 commercial tenants at The Animal Lodge were unsuccessful in renewing their leases after failing tender requirements. The tender exercise by the National Parks Board’s Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) is aimed at raising animal welfare and operational standards in the pet sector. Seven dog breeders, one pet boarding facility and at least 550 animals are affected and will have to vacate by December 2026.
