Industry R&D jobs grew by about a third from 2018 to 2023, with Singapore residents taking up more than seven in 10 of those roles. The National Research Foundation (NRF) has released its inaugural report on RIE2025, Singapore's S$28-billion, five-year research plan. To help startups make the jump from research to commercialisation, the NRF will allocate S$300 million out of the S$37 billion already committed to RIE2030, its next five-year research plan.
