Singapore exploring dedicated leadership programme for senior Uzbek government officials

Singapore and Uzbekistan are exploring a dedicated leadership and governance programme for senior Uzbek government officials. Addressing the Uzbek parliament, Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong said smaller countries cannot afford to turn inwards and must work with like-minded partners. He identified water management and financial technology as areas for closer cooperation. Mr Lee also welcomed Uzbekistan's impending entry into the World Trade Organization. Singapore marks 30 years of diplomatic ties with Uzbekistan next year. Aslam Shah reports from Tashkent.
