Some data centres and cloud service providers in Singapore may soon face new licensing rules to increase resilience and efficiency. Under the proposed Digital Infrastructure Bill, major data centres will have to put in place security measures, prepare for disruptions and report specified incidents to the authorities. More than half of Singapore's data centres are expected to come under the new licensing regimes. Industry players will be given time to adjust, but one analyst said retrofitting older data centres could cost more. Charlotte Lim reports.
