Road safety: Motorists to get driving ban after accumulating 18 demerit points from 2027

Errant motorists in Singapore will face a driving ban if they accumulate 18 demerit points in two years from 2027. The lower threshold from the current 24 points for first-time licence suspension is among tighter measures to improve road safety. Driving bans will also be longer. These come after a rise in accidents causing death or injury last year. Noah Kong reports.
