Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is calling for an independent, global watchdog to be set up to govern artificial intelligence (AI). Speaking at an event organised by local bank DBS, he says that the body could audit AI systems and progressively tighten requirements, keeping frontier AI development safe, without stifling innovation.
