Nepal-Tibet disaster: Nepalese Society Singapore hopes to raise S$10,000 by next week

Nepalese Society Singapore hopes to collect at least S$10,000 by next week to support relief efforts following the deadly floods in Nepal. Nearly S$8,000 has already been gathered from the local Nepali community and concerned Singaporeans. The funds will be channelled to Nepal's Prime Minister's Relief Fund, which is coordinating relief to communities most in need. Meanwhile, Singapore Foreign Affairs Ministry's Crisis Response Team has been on the ground in Nepal since Aug 27, providing consular assistance to affected Singaporeans. MFA says the team has met Nepali authorities for updates on search and rescue efforts. It has also visited a rescue base camp and hospitals. Sabrina Ng with more.
