Every Singaporean child will receive almost S$70,000 in direct financial support as they grow up, under changes to simplify and enhance support for parents. Speaking during his National Day Rally speech on Sunday (Aug 23), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said that instead of concentrating support at birth and varying it by birth order, every child will receive the same level of support.
