NDR 2026: Singapore aims to reduce full-day childcare fees to S$150 a month

Singapore aims to reduce full-day childcare fees to S$150 a month and infant care fees to S$300 a month at government-supported centres, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said in his National Day Rally speech on Sunday (Aug 23). These lower fees will apply to every Singaporean child, regardless of household income. “We will need a few years to get there,” Mr Wong added. “We want the lower fees to be more widely available. So we first need to significantly expand the network of government-supported operators.
