As Singaporeans prepare to enjoy the National Day fireworks and festivities around the National Stadium this Sunday, measures are being put in place to ensure there is no overcrowding. Besides mobile surveillance cameras, there are also infrared beam and live video stream cameras that use AI-driven and computer-vision techniques to count the crowds. Portable anti-ramming vehicle barrier systems will also be deployed to protect crowds against hostile vehicle attacks. The police have classified the upcoming National Day celebrations as an Enhanced Security Special Event. Nadine Yeam reports.
