The government will retain more greenery at Maju Forest in Clementi and Gillman Barracks at Alexandra than currently planned. Minister of State for National Development Alvin Tan said following public feedback, further adjustments will be made and plans will be finalised "over the next month or so". Last month, the Housing Development Board unveiled that at least 10 hectares of forest at Gillman Barracks will be cleared to make way for housing, while around two-third of Maju Forest is slated for redevelopment. Residents living in the areas have welcomed the latest update to retain more greenery. Ivy Chok reports.
