Having too many air quality indicators during periods of haze may confuse the public, said Singapore's Sustainability and the Environment Minister Grace Fu. She was answering an MP’s question in parliament on Tuesday (Nov 3) about providing additional PM2.5 forecasts, similar to what is done in the US. Ms Fu said the current daily PSI forecast helps the public plan activities for the next day, while hourly PM2.5 readings can guide immediate outdoor activities. On indoor air quality, Ms Fu said this is managed through standards, guidelines, advisories and sector-specific measures by building owners and relevant agencies. The minister also updated the House that close to 30 per cent of eligible Singaporeans had collected their N95 masks as of Oct 29.
