Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto delivered his state of the nation address to parliament on Friday (Aug 14), outlining his administration's achievements in nearly two years in office. He highlighted four key guiding principles, including upholding the constitution and safeguarding national interests. Major topics included food self-sufficiency achievements in rice and corn, a 20 per cent cut in subsidised fertilizer prices, and Indonesia's emergence as a key global fertiliser exporter. He projected 6 per cent economic growth, noted investment crossing US$100 billion creating 2.7 million jobs, and flagged progress on free meals, health checks, and village cooperative programmes. He also addressed irregularities at state-owned enterprises and urged investigation into illegal tin mines costing over US$2 billion annually. CNA's Chandni Vatvani reports.
