Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto delivered his annual state of the nation address on Friday (Aug 14) in front of members of the parliament in Jakarta. In his speech, he said that his administration had started to resolve some problems faced by the country, and he believed economic growth of 6 per cent could be achieved this year. “I cannot yet say that all the nation’s problems have been resolved, or that every promise I made has been fulfilled. Not yet,” he told parliament. Prabowo said Indonesia has so far reached self-sufficiency in eight food commodities and that amid global supply chain disruption, Indonesia should be able to stand on its own feet.
