Releasing mosquitoes to fight mosquitoes may sound counterintuitive, but it is a strategy Singapore has spent more than a decade developing to tackle dengue. Dr Chong Chee Seng has helped take Project Wolbachia from the laboratory to housing estates across the island. Claudia Lim finds out what it took to turn an unlikely idea into a major weapon against dengue, and how well the strategy is working.
