Singapore inflicted a first defeat on home soil for Thailand in the ASEAN football championship as they won 2-1 at the Rajamangala Stadium on Tuesday (Aug 18), but it wasn’t enough to progress to the final. A first-half Harhys Stewart goal was cancelled out by a penalty converted by Thailand’s Kakana Khamyok. The Lions regained the lead via an own goal by Pansa Hemviboon but it wasn’t enough to overturn last week’s 3-1 first-leg loss. Thailand now face either Vietnam or Malaysia in the finals.
